The Centre for Hellenic Studies at King's College London is committed to supporting and maintaining research and teaching in all areas of Hellenic Studies, and particularly the study of the post-classical Hellenic world. Thanks to generous external donations and matching funding from the College, we intend to award the Sophia Research Fellowship to an outstanding recent postdoctoral scholar in the field of Byzantine literature, history or thought (c. 300-1500).
Eligible candidates must not be already holding, nor have held, a permanent university post. The Fellow will be expected to identify and develop lines of original enquiry, producing research of international quality; to participate in and initiate events and activities of the Centre; and to gain experience of teaching.
The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6 scale, currently £33,193 to £39,185, per annum, inclusive of £2,323 London Allowance, per annum. The appointment will be for three years, with the possibility (subject to funding) of a fourth year.
