Faculty
The Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere seeks to support faculty initiatives to enhance research and teaching in the humanities. The Center has two interrelated purposes, to provide an intellectual space and a physical location within the University and College for critical and collaborative discussions of the humanities that reach across and beyond specializations, and to provide a place for outreach to the community in which we live and teach. Building on important work in individual departments at the University of Florida, the Center for Humanities and the Public Sphere emphasizes collaboration and encounter as the integrative model for its activities. Faculty are encouraged to participate in Center activities and initiatives by applying for support to host conferences, symposia, and other Center activities.
