Heroism, alongside with war, has traditionally been a crucial component of nation-building enterprises. As we approach the bicentennial of the first Spanish Constitution (approved during the Peninsular War in 1812) and the processes for independence in Latin America, this Symposium intends to analyze the manifestations of heroism in 19th-century Hispanic literature.
The symposium features fifteen presenters from universities in the US, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom. It will take place on February 10th from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm and on February 11th from 9 am to 1 pm. Presentations will be conducted in Spanish.
